We like music and think it’s an essen­tial part of our lives and our being for that mat­ter. Music and run­ning have one thing in com­mon, both are as old as human exis­tence. Man has been run­ning and mak­ing music since day one. UK tele­vi­sion sta­tion Channel 4 must have thought some­thing sim­u­lar when they came up with their sound­track playlist com­pe­ti­tion to pro­mote their cov­er­age of the World Athletics Chapionships 2011 held in Korea.
With this com­pe­ti­tion Channel 4 is on the look out for tal­ented Djs, selec­tors and music super­vi­sors to put together an 8 track playlist rep­re­sent­ing the sounds for any of the world class ath­letes like Usian Bolt, Mo Farah and David Rudisha. Channel 4 is run­ning the com­pe­ti­tion in a col­lab­o­ra­tion with Mixcloud. A panel of indus­try experts, includ­ing Channel 4 com­mis­sion­ing edi­tors, will be select­ing 6 win­ning mixes to fea­ture on Channel 4’s online plat­forms, with all suc­cess­ful cloud­cast­ers cred­ited.
Deadline for sub­mis­sion is Midnight 7th July 2011.
