This year adidas goes all in with its Boost midsole technology. Last year we saw three models given the Boost treatment; the Energy Boost, the adios Boost and the adistar Boost. This year more running shoe models will get the treatment, including the adizero Boston 5. The adizero Boston has been a favorite neutral and fast paced racing shoe for many marathon runners.
Though much of the Boston 5’s midsole consists of the Boost material, the shoe retains traditional EVA in the forefoot as well as in a thin layer extending through the heel, providing a responsive and performance-oriented underfoot feel. adidas anticipates that runners who typically run in the Energy Boost or the Supernova Glide will be able to easily transition to the more nimble Boston for their faster paced runs.
The adidas adizero Boston 5 will be released in September 2014.
