On November 6 thou­sands will run the mother of all marathons, the New York City Marathon. In honor of 9-time cham­pion Grete Waitz, adi­das is launch­ing a spe­cial ver­sion of three run­ning shoes. The fea­tured shoes are the adiZero Adios 2, adiZero Boston 3 and the Supernova Glide 4.
Norwegian run­ner Grete Waitz, who died of can­cer this past April, won nine New York City marathons between 1978 and 1988, more than any other run­ner in his­tory.
The shoes come in three col­or­ways, which are inspired by Norway col­ors and pat­terned after one of Waitz’ marathon times. The best part is that all of the prof­its - the full 100%! - will be donated to Waitz’s AKTIV Against Cancer foun­da­tion.
