Brooks is bringing back the Launch which was released in 2009 and was awarded with Runner’s World “Best Debut” in the Winter 2010 Shoe Guide in its December 2009 issue. Despite of this initial success, Brooks decided to stop the production of the Launch and caused many fans of the shoe to cry out in dismay.
So much so that Brooks took heat and is rejuvenating the Launch by popular demand. The second installment is called none other than the Launch 2. Taking feedback from the Hansons-Brooks athletes, the design team of the Launch 2 maintained the original essence of the cult shoe while also offering some fresh and improved features.
In the upper, a no-sew, dual mesh construction and stirrup overlay design wraps the heel and midfoot for a similar fit and weight. Surrounding the heel and midfoot, the closed mesh has heat-welded TPU components to provide a touch of stability while keeping weight down. The mesh over the toe-box is completely open to encourage flexibility through toe-off and exceptional breathability.
The improved midsole seems to be a bit softer than its predecessor but still ensures an adaptive and supportive ride.
The Brooks Launch 2 is now available for purchase at Running Warehouse in several colorways for both men and women.
